Pages not being rendered correctly on 6310i

I have recently changed my phone from an Er*css*n T39m to a 6310i. My WML pages previously showed up with attributes such as bold, italic, etc, but on the 6310i they just come out as plain text. My test page is reproduced below. The only part that renders correctly is the TABLE section. I'm mystified - how do I get my attributes working again ?

Nokia 6310i WAP browser does not support text emphasis elements (I, B, U, EM, STRONG, BIG, SMALL). Please take a look at the Nokia WAP Phone Characteristics document to find out which elements and features are supported in Nokia browser.
