D211 in Redhat 7.3: Can only access IP addresses, not DNS

Hi, I finally got the Nokia D211 to access my GPRS service in Redhat 7.3, with one problem. I can't ping www.yahoo.com but I can ping it's IP. Same when I try to access webpages.
Secondly, according to guides on the web, my modem initialisation string should be
at+cgdcont=1,"IP","internet";^sgauth=1
However, this gives me "BAD INITIALISATION STRING" and the PPD service starts successfully when I use only:
at+cgdcont=1,"IP","internet";
How important is the ^sgauth=1 command?
Thanks from Singapore

Hello,
Copy d211/scripts/ip-up.local to /etc/ppp/, and it should work.
The "^sgauth=1" command is not familiar to me. I think it is not important if the connection works without it.
Best Regards,
