Muting all other audio OR remote controlling the media player

Hi,
imagine a given application having to send audio prompts and there mustn't be audio output from any other source (e.g. the media player meanwhile playing music).
Is there a way to reserve the audio (regardless whether sent via bluetooth or not) exclusively from inside this application.

And if not - is there a way to remote control the media player to pause or mute it?

Are you talking about AVRCP profile.It is there in Bluetooth where you can control your media player remotely.You can google and check there are many application like this available for mobile devices which are doing it through Bluetooth.

Hi yogpan,

no I'm not talking about controlling the audio output via bluetooth. I just want to mute all audio output from any other application but mine temorarily, regardless whether the playback is done on the device itself or a bluetooth headset is used.

Can I use AVRCP locally too to control the media player running on the same device as my application does?
