    Dear support,

I have to develop a wireless communication between a GSM mobile and a POS (point of Sales) station. I am thinking about SMS over bluetooth.

Is it possible to send / receive an SMS over bluetooth with a Nokia 6310?
I have read something about AT commands over a virtual serial port via bluetooth.
How and were can I get more information about this?

    Regards,

    Ronald

Nokia 6310/6130i do not provide application programming interfaces for Bluetooth applications. You can, however, use them via AT commands (from the PC, for example). For information on possible AT commands, please visit PC Connectivity SDK Developers section and download an AT Command Set for GSM Phones (newer products) document from:
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/pccsdkforum/main/1,,1_55_10,00.html

Nokia 3650/7650 provide C++ APIs for Bluetooth: You can create a Symbian C++ application with a text editor and a capability to send the note via Bluetooth. You can also use preinstalled Notes application to send a textual note (.txt) via Bluetooth without developing anything. SMSes cannot be sent via Bluetooth.

For further information on application development possibilities on Series 60 devices (such as Nokia 3650 and 7650), please visit Series 60 Platform documents section at www.forum.nokia.com. A good document is, e.g., Designing Bluetooth Applications for Series 60.
