Carbide.C++.1.3 vs. Carbide.vs.3.0.1

I am new to S60 development and am trying to decide which tool to use.

How do these two compare to each other?
Does Carbide.vs.3.0.1 support the features the Carbide.C++.1.3, professional edition has, i.e., on-device debugging, performance profiling, etc?

Carbide.vs does not exist for a long time by now, and it has never supported such features. Actually you do not have the choice, since you simply can not download it.
Carbide.c++ 1.3 is also outdated, the current version number is exactly the double, 2.6, and it is a completely free tool, with all the features you are asking about.

Even though I do have 1.3's instrall file, I don't see any reason to use it.

Later versions are much more advanced. GO forCarbide.c++ - 2.4 is a really nice and stable version!
