    Hi,
Is it possible to create a landmark database by the following way:
    1. create the landmark database by using Microsoft Access
    2. export the database as XML file
    3. transform the XML file into LDB file on Symbian OS
    4. package the ldb into .sis file of an application
    5. install the .sis file on device
    6. use the ldb file in the application on device

    thanks

Which of the above steps do you find problematic? Btw, there's no need for 3, you can deploy the XML (LMX ?) to the targeted device and constitute the database in place, ready for use.

step 2: I can not create lmx scheme file. Only common XML file is created. I am looking a efficient way to generate a batch of landmarks.

How "common" is the generated XML file and why can't it be converted into something that the phone can handle? To me it makes more sense to either export into a supported format (LMX, GPX - since S60 5th Edition) or add an intermediary conversion filter between the phone and the PC based database.

What i mentioned 'common' xml file means the file exported by Microsoft Access.I have no idea of how to export an xml file with lmx scheme by Microsoft Access as well. What i suppose to do currently just program a toolkit for converting the common xml into lmx.
For me, i was looking for an easy toolkit to generate a batch of landmarks on PC efficiently. However, nothing was found. Therefore, i am considering the solution mdb->xml->lmx->ldb now.
