API to launch the dialog for selecting the ringtone

Hi ,

I want to know about the Api through which I can call the default Ringtone dialog and select a ringtone which I can further use in my application.

any help in the form of document of links will be very helpful.

You can try MGFetch if you are using Symbian C++ (and there may also be Python wrapper for it).

Thanks a lot for your reply.

The Media gallery API which you mentioned in the below mail.It will allow you to browse only the Music files which we browse through the native media gallery application.

Will it also allow you to browse the native ringtones?

Unfortunately I do not know, and it is absolutely not sure. API for the "real" ringtone selection dialog is not present in the public SDK-s.
