I am newer in Widset development I want to know that
(1)I want to develop a widget that get the information of news but I did not get url of xml file which to be parse.
(2)Is it neccesory that which page we want to access that it should have xml file

I'm not sure I understand question #1. Can you please try to explain what you mean?

As far as #2 is concerned, you can fetch any kind of text information using the XMLHttpRequest - not just XML. If you want the data as text rather than a parsed XML DOM tree then just use the responseText property of XMLHttpRequest after the request has been completely fetched.
