Sending SMS in multiple languages

Hi

I am developing a SMS software system. I have already developed a SMS software system.

Actually, I want the user to be able to send SMS in multilanguage support. How can this be achieved? SMS will be sent through http.

Also, one of my software requirements state that:

SMS should be sent through AT Codes. Having a search on Google returns AT Codes are Short Code Numbers. Is this correct or does AT Codes mean something else?

I'm trying to understand:

you send the message via http to a server.
This server has also a handset connected.
Once the message arrives the server, is sent using AT commands.

AT commands allow you to control the handset using a serial interface. You can send messages, establish phone calls, data sessions, use phonebook, etc.

Actaully, the SMS is not going to be sent through the mobile phone. There will be a SMS server, which one of my team is developing.

The SMS will be sent I think through http or https to the SMS Server that is the SMS gateway. I want the user to be able to send in multiple languages. How can this be done? SMS will be sent in other languages through AT Codes.

In this context does the AT Codes that you described is still the same? I know this discussion board is for mobile phones, but this software will be developed in J2ME.

If it is a computer sending the message, I don't understand the role of the mobile phone here.

It seems you are not using a mobile phone, why are you talking about J2ME.

What I have understand is as follows -
@ You have your application installed on the device..mobile..correct
@ Through That application you will send the SMS to a SMS gateway...ok
@ That SMS gateway in turn will send that SMS to another mobile..correct..

* Now you want to send SMS FROM MOBILE tom the server but in multi-language..correct..

Hi,

Accessing AT commands can be done by your server side code. May be you are using AT commands to make use of mobile GSM modem so that you dont have to make use of external GSM modem.

For sending SMS in different languages read about internationalization in java which you can implement on the server side. Here is an article on internationalization.

Just forgot to remind you that you may send the SMS in multiple languages but the handset to which you will be sending support that language or not. So first check that out and then go ahead.

Hi ,
To send the multi language message you have to construct the Binary message with the dcs as 08 then the mobile will understand this as the Unicode message and format that as the Unicode message.
