Well the first step is probably figuring out what project you want to do There are several books available that explain how things work In Symbian and will probably help give you ideas, as they explain what is possible to achieve and provide examples.

Then you should look for various sources of information. The C++ Developers Library, the Wiki and others can be extremely helpful.

Maybe what I just said isn't the speediest way of doing things, but it does mean you will have fewer problems along the way and thus save some time.

    Good luck

No one can learn Symbian C++ on behalf of you. However if you have C# experience you may want to check www.redfivelabs.com
For "native" C/C++ you can check the OpenC/C++ plugins (head towards "Tools" above, then Plug-ins, Extensions), though the GUI part of such project still remains to be Symbian/S60.

Developing Software for Symbian OS, Second Edition - A Beginner's Guide to Creating Symbian OS v9 Smartphone Applications in C++ is a pretty good book to start with. It explains a lot of stuff. If you're interested in example code, Quick Recipes on Symbian OS - Mastering C++ Mobile Development is a very good choice. That's my recommendation anyway
