how can i get direction information

helo .i develop a gps application.i supply connection properly. Now,i want to show my direction on screen. for example i walk on road. When i start application on phone, it show my direction,North,East,NorthEast e.g. How can determine this information?Thanks.

Does your phone have a magnetometer sensor that you can access? If not you cannot get the direction but you can estimate it based on two consecutive position reads ... the old "two points determine a line" story you have learned long time back in school.
