When installing 5th edition SDK, I get many error panels one after another with the text like this:

"The following error occured on the file
    C:\S60\S60_5th_Edition_SDK_v0.9\epoc32\release\winscw\udeb\z\resource\widgetmenu.r10
Can not create file or folder"

    Installation path C:\S60.
    Processor Pentium 4, 2.8GHz.
    Memory 1.5GB.
    OS Windows XP SP2.

    What is wrong?

I have an idea to reformat disk to NTFS, because it works better in case of many files in one folder. (current file system is FAT32).

    Can it help?

The SDK contains some 34000 localized resource files which should in fact be removed. On FAT32 that is apparently a bit too much.

Since you probably don't want to format your drive you may consider running a batch script in parallel with the SDK installation and delete all the *.r* files from that directory other than the *.rsc and *.r01 (or better yet move them to another location, something like .\back\<ext>\<file>.<ext>).

That way the files remaining in the SDKs will be the default/English localized resources and that's all you need.

    Hi,
I've solved that using TrueCrypt NTFS drive. If someone haven't used TC, I suggest giving it a try, it is marvellous and really easy to use. Available on Mac OS/X too.

Nice workaround, your projects are going to be extra-safe too :-)
