Hi,

Some useful information.Building a QtWidget in a directory in the examples
e.g. "c:\Qt\4.4.4-temple\examples\QtS60app>" works much better.
The linker could not find the main modules at other locations

Many strange errors have been traced to using having spaces in path name and having the Symbian compilers and Carbide on different drives

Hi Jim,

This is interesting because Temple was fixed to correct problems with building outside the Qt source tree (I think the appropriate qmake spec couldn't be found and default was used rather than symbian-abld, so no package files were generated and libcrt0.lib wasn't added to the projects, possibly other things too).

I don't have any trouble building my Qt examples with Temple on XP so I'm guessing from your other posts that this is a Vista issue rather than a general one. Important for me though because I'm just about to buy a new laptop and will probably be forced to have Vista, or pay more to get an XP "downgrade".

Hi Mark,
You have probably read Moving to Windows Vista . Things are getting better, trying to avoid a laptop withe Real Tek audio will solve many problems or you will need to buy bluetooth USB and borrow stereo headphones to fool the Symbian emulators.

Windows XP well no problems.

This built just as well as the earlier release so problems have gone away

Hmmm, OK I've got the laptop but the specific version you used for Vista is too old to be in the snapshot list now. I'm slightly concerned about BC for these snapshots when used with the pre-built binaries for the Temple release - I'll ask on the mailing list.

OK, I checked on the mailing list and the snapshots are not binary compatible with the released binaries. :-(

However, so far I have absolutely no problem at all with the official released version on my new laptop. I can compile and run projects in the emulator just fine, including building outside the Qt Source tree (just a test project in my default Qt workspace works fine). I do have both on the same drive though.
