    Dear All,

Hm, I think most of us allready seen UI design of Iphone. As far as i have noticed (Correct me if I am wrong) nokia UI design is different in character compared to iphone, or windows mobile devices.

Iphone or winmo use things like button, textfield, and feel like UI on PC or desktop. Nokia UI design looks more simple, since we cannot put button or text field in certain position we want. I think this is because UI design of Nokia is optimized for non touch screen device.
But in touch screen device, such thing (button, text field etc) will let user interact faster.

And very great that nokia has finally released touch screen device (after long time of waiting ), but I didn't see any much difference in UI character yet. Is there any possibility for us as developer to make more customizable UI, like putting button, text field etc in Nokia touch screen device, and design app like on iphone?
And it will be great if we can do that in pys60.

    Thanks.

    hi hudarsono

seems to be a very interesting question.

as far as creating UIs which will have the kinds of buttons and text fields is bit difficult but not impossible in PyS60 for example the PyCalc by bogdan can be taken as an example for a button kind of UI.

Moreover once PyQt is available that will make things more easy and we will be able to develop more good button kind of UIs.

But for that we have to wait a bit.

    Enjoy Pythoning

Python + any kind of 'low level' graphic library is enough to make any kind of custom UI elements. Mobile applications user experience is (still) pretty different then the usual desktop paradigm. If you goal is not to create a general framework to reuse objects in many different applications the process of create custom buttons, gadgets, scroll views or whatever is pretty straighforward (and I must say pretty fun) and let you experiments new unexplored interaction pattern.

    switches:

    custom buttons:

    complete interfaces:

are really not too complicate to implement.
Good luck. Ill look forward to check your progress
