Media Recorder with viewfinder

Hi,

Is it possible to use CCMRMediaRecorder with camera viewfinder enabled? I have tried to call CCamera functions StartViewFinderBitmapsL, StartViewFinderDirectL or StartViewFinderL before starting recording, but these calls just cause recording to fail. It would be nice to see what you are actually recording ;-) Thanks.

I haven't looked at the Media Recorder API for a while, but the general way you get a viewfinder at the same time as recording is to share the camera handle between the threads/processes (otherwise whatever starts second finds that the camera is already in use). There are details for how to do this in my Symbian multimedia book (chapter 3) but you should be able to find everything you need in the CCamera documentation somewhere.
