QtWebkit support for S60 platform

Hi All,

I have a requirement where in i need some services of s60( s60webkit) services to be used with QT webkit.
I want to replace the core webkit of QT(QTwebkit) with that of s60 webkit core. Can anyone tell me how i can achieve in building and replace with the s60 features.

Any pointers on this will be highly appriciated.

Hi,

The first and most important thing is that the QtWebKit module is not yet ported to S60, so you can't do anything with it right now.

After that, I sincerely hope that we have a single WebKit engine for Qt for S60 - the porting team should probably be doing what you ask, making the QtWebKit module work with the WebKit engine in S60. There could well be problems with that because the Nokia WebKit branch has a history of compatibility issues. I wouldn't be completely surprised if QtWebKit is only available on, say, S60 5th Edition onwards with an appropriate firmware update (i.e. they might have to change S60 WebKit to get it integrated).

That's just my speculation though. You'll have to wait several months to get QtWebKit at all.

What specific features of the S60 WebKit do you want that aren't available in QtWebKit anyway?
