    Hello Folks,
I have the same old dreaded Emulator issue - however, this time, we are looking at Carbide.c++ 2.0 running on Windows XP Professional.

My Java version is 1.6, I added the neccessary entries to the config, rebooted...but still cant access the Preferences menu.

    Ideas, anyone?

Carbide.c++ has nothing to do with this, the problem is with emulator's preferences & tools which are *unfortunately* Java modules.

I have heard of this old trick not working anymore at least once before however I would not know what to make of it as I cannot reproduce it. Do try to search a bit, see if the other person has managed to fix it.

P.S. It even works on Windows 7 ...

    Hi ltomulta,
I am very proud to be able to give something back to the community - but I managed to get it running. The trick was a missing DLL called msvcr71.

I have created a detailed blog post on the topic, which is here - please add it to the appropriate places!
