WML 2.0 MIME media type

Dear WML Experts,

WAP-238-WML-20010911-a.pdf defines:

"WML2 documents are identified by the MIME media type "application/wml+xml"."

However, WAP-236-WAESpec-20020207-a.pdf tells us, that application/vnd.wap.wml+xml is the MIME media type for WML 2.0 as long as application/wml+xml is not registered by the IANA. Some minutes ago, I've checked the IANA media types directory. application/wml+xml is still not registered.

The NMIT 3.1 only supports application/wml+xml but not application/vnd.wap.wml+xml. Can I expect the same behaviour for the real Nokia WAP 2.0 compliant browsers in mobile phones?

MIME types for XHTML content are

text/html
application/xhtml+xml
application/vnd.wap.xhtml+xml
