    Hi All,

I have kept the midlet "a.jar" and "a.jad" on a server and it can be downloaded OTA.

First i installed the same midlet on nokiae66 using bluetooth.
Then i tried to download the same midlet OTA.

The device does not ask to replace the midlet and creates another copy of same midlet.

    Both the midlets are same.

Can anybody explain why is it happening?

I have observed this scenario in other nokia devices also.

    Thanks in advance

    Regards
    Deepak

Both are one and same jad and jar. One installed through bluetooth and other installed through OTA

I mean same jad and jar are installed through bluetooth and then through OTA.

Not sure what is happening in your case, For me it works fine. Can you give a try to increase the MIDlet version number while installing OTA ?

i am sorry , i forgot to mention that midlet vendor name is different in both jad.

Does the midlet vendor name matter in this case?

Never tried with changing the vendor name. But why don't you give a try with the same vendor name(atleast just for a try!) ?

Yes... if the vendor name is different, they are regarded as different applications. Otherwise, two midlets with the same name, from different vendors, would overwrite each other.

    Cheers,
    Graham.
