How can my apllication turn on the back light

How can I control the back light within the application?
My application is a kind of GPS navigator and rarely use the keys.

use com.nokia.mid.ui.DeviceControl class apis, u can control light and vibration of device using them. U can check j2mepolish DeviceControl class for implementation.

For any readers who can't be bothered reading that thread... the essential point is: support for vibrate and backlight using the DeviceControl class is patchy on Series 60s. Some work, some don't. In some cases, it is firmware dependant.
