Which View for Log-output in Programm

Hi,

I´m searching for the perfect view class to illustrate a log on the screen of my gui application.
It should look like a hugh text editor where a program should write log-comments at runtime.

Optimal would be if the view would have a scroll bar also.
At the moment I´m using the CEikEdwin class.

Do you have any idea, which class would be more otimal for my aim???

U need to work hard for that. If u want to show only text then draw some data which is fit to screen and skip else part and add scrolling logic. if u have to add other control in page then u have to develop multi datapart form.

Yes, text only would be enough. I don´t need any controls or something else in my view. Do you have an idea, which container should be used to realise that goal?

Thanks for Quote. Sadly the api you propose doesn´t solve my problem. I want to create something like an live log in a view for log messages from a webserver and output from a profiler. But the mentioned log must run in the same program on the mobile like my own webserver.

This isn't really the right board to discuss this - you might have more luck on the Symbian user interface board.

If you're working on 3rd Edition and later phones then the simplest solution is probably to use Open C - just use printf() for your log output and configure the stdio server to print to a console window (and you then have the flexibility to reconfigure it to print to a file or serial port).

thanks for your advise. I´m new in this forum and so I´m not rally familiar with it.
I think the solution with the stdio server goes in the rigth direction - I´ll try out to implement.
