    Hi

    I am developing application in Symbian C++ using S60 3rd Edition FP1.
    I want to luanch the Nokia Maps application from my application. Also while launching Nokia Maps I want to provide destination address to Nokia Maps, through my application, so that it starts navigating the device user automaticaly.

    Is it possible? If yes can you please provide me any link or sample code for how to achieve it.

    Thanks
    Thanks & Regards

    You can launch Nokia Maps application. But there is no way to pass parameters (destination address, etc.) to it. Because there is no any API availiable for this.

    It only proved Maps not the navigation.
    What I require is my application can launch Google Map application and use it for navigation programatically by providing destination address.
    Thanks & Regards

    AFAIK, there are no APIs available for this.

    Thanks a lot for your replies, but I think that there is a way to open the Nokia maps application and pass parameters to it. Frankly I don't know how but I already say someone made it. Check this free application on OVI store: http://store.ovi.com/content/7426C07...kSource=search

    The application already saves landmarks, opens them in OVI maps!!! Please check and try to help us know how to make it. Strongly appreciate your reply.

    If you read the Location Based Services forum on this forum, or if just search this board for "maps and navigation API" you will find that the existence of the APIs was never a question. There are many applications built in on device which can open the Maps application and show landmarks on it so yes, the APIs exist but they are not available to 3rd party developers. As usual, one can use the API Partnering to ask for access to internal APIs, so give it a try. Be aware however that the answer can be negative.

    As for the app in the Ovi Store, its developers either have an agreement with Nokia to allow them to use the APIs or they have some problems coming their way.
