    hi friends,

    I have 2 applications : 1) [fep.sis] which is going to be symbian certified signed as well nokia signed.
    2) [setup.sis] is going to be express signed.

    [fep.sis] is background application and [setup.sis] is interface application. (contains embedded fep.sis)

    My query is :
    Do I need to have vendor ID for fep.sis or setup.sis ???

    If I do not have a vendor ID (i.e VID=0) is it ok for [fep.sis] which is symbian certified signed as well as nokia signed.??

    Wil it fail the criteria ?

    Thanks,
    himanshu.

    Check-12 says that IF you specify a VID for your binaries then you MUST ensure that you own it and that you use it correctly.

    The check-list does NOT say that you should or that you must have a VID.

    hi,

    1)
    I am not specifying a VID for my application so according to symbian signed criteria [checklist-12] , I should specify VID=0.

    2)
    Currently vendor-id is specified in the pkg in the following way:

    ;
    ;Unique Vendor name
    ;
    :"Forum Nokia"

    3)
    what is the syntax of putting the VID in pkg file i.e VID_0;

    As normally vendorid is in the mmp file, but they according to checklist
    they have mentioned correct [Correct Package file VID]

    Any suggestions please??

    Thanks,
    himanshu.

    1) That's fine
    2) Replace that with "himsymbian's company" since as far as I know you are not working for Forum Nokia
    3) I've seent feedback to the responsible people about that checklist entry as it is obvously wrong. What they want to say there is this: IF you have specified a VID then it must valid and the unique vendor name associated with it must match the one specified in the package file.

    Since your VID is 0 you don't have a problem, just set that string to your company's name.
