Point of Interest Application

Hi,
This is my first post.I am a final year engineering student and am doing a project on finding the nearby poi's for mobiles(within a certain radius) based on the users location and show it on a map(google) with appropriate markers.

What I have done till now is found out the location using location api of j2me.And i have also updated my local server.Then i am a little stuck.I don't kow what to do next.

If someone could help me by providing a few links or examples of a few code snippets,it will be of great help.
