[moved] Access specific Symbian functions with a C++ program

Hello,

I'm developping an application for a Nokia N95 and I would like to know if it is possible to fetch the results of a radio scanning (such as when you select to manually choose the operator in the options).

For my project i need to gather information (Cell ID + Rx Level) on all the cells (GSM+UMTS) in the range of the phone. The scanning which the phone does when it starts or when you choose to manually select the operator gathers these informations, and I would like to know wether it is possible to get these infos or if it is possible to launch the scan directly from the program ( libraries to use, or symbian system call) and then retrieve the informations it gathered.

It is not a problem if i have to use one phone per operator or if i have to do operations manually. I just have to log these infos.


I tried PyNetMony to see if it had the function i needed but it focuses on the active cells and I need to have information on all the cells in range. Does the nokia Netmonitor gather informations about the others cells then the active one?

you could try searching this forum for posts about neighbouring cells, this topic has been discussed plenty of times, so you could get all the answer needed from the previous posts.
