    Dear all,
I'm new to the world of J2ME app design and I'm looking at various technologies to provide UIs for my apps. I've been looking through various sites and have seen some impressive SVG-based applications. Can anybody recommend an editor, preferably free, that I can use to create and edit SVG Tiny files?

    Thanks in advance

    Angus

inkspace: http://www.inkscape.org/, would be one free, though you propably need to use the SVG to SVG-T converter after saving the SVG with inkspace.

OK. Thanks for the reply. Where do I get the SVG to SVG-Tiny converter?

    Thanks

there should be one shipped with the SDK, for example if you have 3rd ed MR in default folder, you could find it under "C:\Symbian\9.1\S60_3rd_MR\S60Tools\svg2svgt\installer".

The svg2svgt tool in the SDK seems to be utter crap. I looked into the specifications a bit, and indeed it seems non-trivial to come up with a good converter.
That said, I wonder how many people would be willing to pay like 10 Euros for a 'one trick pony' application that would do a good job of converting Inkscape svgs to SVG Tiny?
The only good alternative seems to be Adobe Illustrator, and that is serious money for a hobby developer.

If such a 10 Euro app exists, let me know, I'd be happy to buy one.

Ok, I bit the bullet and started coding.

Can convert Inkscape SVG files to SVG Tiny, most of the time anyways.
It is not free, but inexpensive, and free to try.
