    Hi Dude,
    Can we phone match without using GPS.
    I mean Can we cell match ,if GPS is unavailable.

    Are you referring to GSM Cells ? If yes then it has nothing to do with GPS.

    Hi,

    your question is not very clear, but you can get cell id whether you have GPS or not..

    "cell match" in terms of???? clearify in technical terms.

    Yes ..Once you get the cell id, you could retrieve info about them from Open-databases(OpenCellid.org) which maintain the Cell tower's frequency,position,etc..which could be made use of in Triangulation and finding a location...

    So retrieve the cell id , query for position to a Server, perform triangulation, you will get it...


    Even iPhone had this technique before their 3g version, where they relied on cell-tower triangulation more..
