Many of your Flash Lite questions will have been answered in the Flash Lite on Nokia Discussion board

It's worth noting that FL apps for S60 devices (SIS files) that are packaged with the Adobe Mobile Packager tool will not be accepted into the Ovi publish intake system. A Flash developer can use any other Symbian packaging tool to take their SWF files and any other assets and generate a SIS file.

Hi David,
This address (http://www.swfpack.com/fn/index.php) is the same as in Flash packager

You will still need to sign these using the flash online signing package at
Flash packager which will need the Publisher ID

I've tried to use Flash lite library instructions from

to create a stub application. All goes well until I try to run app installed using the sis on the Nokia N97 -- I get this error message:

FlashStubExample: unable to execute file for security reasons

The swf packaged in the sis is very simple and simply displays some text on screen. Anybody got ideas how to resolve this?

There are several things. Firstly when you have finished this is an self signed sis file which will *NOT* be accepted by Ovi store because the install must install without prompts to users. see post in this thread http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...11&postcount=4. This means Symbian Express signing of the file.

N97 is getting the error because this uses the default (fully signed) sis files. To make the self signed work you must switch off application signed requirements.

Finally you may have had an error building try using the Adobe mobile packager at Adobe download packager page

I know there are signing requirements for Ovi Store, however at this point I'm not trying to get the sis accepted by Ovi store, simply want to verify my Flash swf works as an sis application on a particular phone, e.g. installs and runs on phone memory and memory card.

Can you be a bit more specific here, where and how exactly do I switch off application signed requirements? In the phone itself?

Hi Pasi,
You can still use the Adobe packager output. The unsigned package is output as well as self signed. The unsigned Adobe package is used for Symbian Express signing and as shown in the wiki article is the easiest to use.

N97 user setting, see page 136 of N97 user manual

Select Menu > Settings and Application mgr..
Select Installation settings and from the following:
● Software installation — Select whether Symbian
software that has no verified digital signature can
be installed.
● Online certificate check — Select to check the
online certificates before installing an application.
● Default web address — Set the default web
address used when checking online certificates

Solved, thanks to Jim's link on Flash 3 security. Simply putting the swf file in 'trusted' folder removed the error that I encountered on Nokia N97.

In terms of Flash lite library example code on packaging, this means appending '\\trusted\\' as last part of swf path in the stub.cpp and '\trusted\' in PKG file. After that, the swf played without error from signed sis file on Nokia N97.

Hi,

I got hold of the earlier available Adobe Mobile Packager (the free version). Now the problem is that I see the default packager icon on my phone for my Flash Lite application. Also, the packager does not allow me to select my application icon. I have placed the desired icon in the output folder along with its svg; doesn't help either.
