Will my get signed by Symbian Signed ?

Hi Experts and Champs,

I have developed an application which uses all capabilities other than phone manufacture capabilities. I have used developers certificate to sign the application till now. I have completed the application now and have to send it for SymbianSigned for signing.

My quires:

1. Will my app. get singed by SymbianSigned ?
2. if yes. Is it possible for me to release the app retail / commercial purpose ?

you should read the pdf manual made for symbian signed testing criteria, and make sure your application passes all tests accordingly.

Then prepare to identify that you actually need all capabilities. And if you comply with all rules, then it should pass symbian signed of course.

You need to sign your .sis file with Publisher ID before you send it to Symbian Signed.(Means you need to remove developer certificate from your application). See this: Using_TC_TrustCenter_Publisher_ID

Before doing anything, just go through all the Test cases defined by SymbianSigned and make sure that your application passes them elegantly.

Thanks for the reply.

My application requires the following capabilities along with other read and write capabilities.
1. CommDD,
2. NetworkControl and
3. MultimediaDD.

But on googling i came across a post in some blog site stating that the application which uses the above three capabilities will not signed by SymbianSigned. And they will not allow the app to release for retail / commercial purpose.

Please let me know if it is true?

The capabilities you mentioned(CommDD, NetworkControl, MultimediaDD), cannot be requested in Express Signing option. You have to go through Certified Signing option.

That's it. Read the guide first and it will solve all your doubts. Do not hesitate to ask if you still find any confusion.
