5800, CVideoPlayerUtility, overlay semi-transparent control

Hi,

My app plays video using CVideoPlayer utility.
I wanna add the balloon with a some text.
Balloon image is semi-transparent.
And the balloon's window is set up by calling SetTransparencyAlphaChannel function.
Unfortunately, I see the balloon but see no video behind it.
Balloon draws in that way it has black rectangle behind.

Is there any way to fix it?


BTW, in Real Player I see controls on top of the video but these controls are not transparent.

Some "screen-intensive" components of the Multimedia Framework (including video and OpenGL support) access the display via some internal way. Product of such components can not be read back from the video memory, and as a consequence they can not be dimmed/blended neither.

RealPlayer does not really matter, since it decodes videos for itself, thus it could even blend/dim video frames, just it does not.
