[moved] Problem with Open Signing

We have been developer signing our application for testing quite regularly. Of late (last 2 days), we find that the open signed online as well as the open signed offline process has been failing.

In case of Open signed online, the site does not ask for the capabilities of the application and goes ahead with the process. After signing and downloading the application, the application installs but fails to launch due to a capability issue.

In case of open signed offline, though the capabilities are included during generating the developer certificate, the finally signed application installs but does not launch.

Has there been any change in the signing process? Please help!

Finally they made that change! The checking of capabilities in that service was nothing more than a formality and has no impact what so ever in the signing process. The capabilities are asigned to binaries at build time and not to the SIS file. The sis file is then inspected and the capabilities used automatically retrieved. If they are in the range supported by the service the package will be signed. If they are not, it will not be signed.

This has no impact in the way your application runs.

Again, signing has no impact on your application.
