Nokia 6212 - External Card Reader - JSR257 - issue

Hello,

I am developping NFC applications on the Nokia 6212.
I am using the phone as a NFC reader to read external cards (JSR 257).
I developped a little MIDlet to detect external card and exchange APDU with it.

I installed this MIDlet on the Nokia 6131 and the Nokia 6212. I have two cards (ISO 14443-A and ISO 14443-B).
Here are the results:
The Nokia 6131 can open a detection and exchange APDUs with both cards.
The Nokia 6212 does not detect the cards!!!

I checked the settings of the phone. (NFC is ON, everything seems OK).

Does anyone notice the same issue? Does anyone could use the Nokia 6212 as an external card reader??

i am not giving u the solution. but i have a doubt.

nokia 6131 nfc phone is detecting iso14443-b cards ?

which card u are using ? (manufacturer, product code etc...)

I have the answer!
The NFC antenna of the Nokia 6212 is not at the top of the screen but next to the keyboard...
The Nokia 6212 can communicate with both cards (type A and B) but you have to put the card on the keyboard which is very unconvenient!!
I also noticed that the sensivity of the Nokia 6212 is not as good as the Nokia 6131.

What you can do is put the bottom of the phone on the card. It's a little more convenient and might even be a more natural motion that putting the top of the phone against the tag in some cases. Still, the 6212 antenna is a little less sensitive and some "rugged" tags can be very hard to read.

can you tell me which card you are using ? (card-manufacturer, url etc..)
