    Hi there,
I'm new to WRT based development and so apologies if this is a stupid question. I've been asked to write an app that looks up a feed, (that's a custom feed created and available based on a device tag, so for example the N97 feed) based on the device the app is running on. So if the app is running on an N97, I want to update the feed URL to go get the feed relevant to the N97.

Would really appreciate some help on identifying the device, populating a variable that I can then use to update my feed URL?
    Many thanks.

OK, used http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...e_Model_in_WRT. However, running it on a 5800 device, I'm getting a security warning 'allow application to access user data'. Is the phone model classed as user data then? and if so, is there any way of getting the phone model without having to have the user authorise it each time?
    Cheers,
    Si.

That security popup is shown because you're reading user data, so there's no way to avoid it. What you can do to show it only once is to store the retrieved value in a stored preference (with widget.setPreferenceForKey() method) so that you could read it from there the next times (with widget.preferenceForKey() method).

    Hope it helps,
    Pit
