Installing PyNcvLib - old certificate

Hi!

I have been trying to use pyNcvLib and I cannot even install it.

The certificate at the Nokia site is outdated.

The self-signed version provided in the forums is also not working - it installs the package in some folder which is not in my path (the folder doesn't even exist)

I opened the original one from Nokia, changed the .pkg in order to install it at c:\resources\python25. I changed the path both for PyNcvLib and _PyNcvLib and self-signed the package (used siscontents)

My scripts (or the example scripts) still cannot import the library... they just close the shell so I cannot even see what error appears... I tried to run PyNcvLib as a script and it complains that there is no such module called _PyNcvLib.

How can this be, if I checked that the _PyNcvLib.pyd is in the path (I changed the PyNcvLib to point to c:\resources\python25)

Furthermore, I cannot repeat the procedure for pycamera... It always complains about the certificate...

Can anyone help me? I am quite new at PyS60 and I am having some difficulties trying to understand the environment

Change the device date back to one year and try installing.

That solved my certificate problem... But I still cannot import the library...
Any thoughts on that?

It is really an import error:
"ImportError: No module named PyNcvLib".

I think that the main problem is that the .pkg file inside the sis copies the files to a folder that is not in my path.
I tried to change this for both the PyNcvLib.py and _PyNcvLib.pyd files(the only two files in the .sis). I also changed the path for _PyNcvLib.pyd in the PyNcvLib.py file...

Now it can find the PyNcvLib... But when I try to run the example scripts... it just closes the shell.
I cannot see what errors it gives!

Is there any other way to change the path without interfering with the original code? Furthermore the original one, specified in the Nokia library, does not exist in my phone... And I do not know how to access it... (c:\\sys\\bin\\_PyNcvLib.pyd - the sys folder exist but I can only see it using the filebrowser.py provided as an example with python )

I would really appreciate some guidance on this... I have been trying to install this for more than a week!!!

i am not sure if i got you, but what you can do is if you know some basics of carbide C++, then why don't you change the path specified in the pkg file and then recompile it for your device.

I am quite new to all this S60... I am also trying to understand carbide and all this framework.
For example: Could you explain me what is the difference between changing the pkg file in carbide and recompiling and changing the directly the file on the sis package?

What I did: I opened the .sis package using Siscontents, I changed the path in the .pkg file and in the import statement of the dynamic library _PyNcvLib.pyd and finally and created a new autosigned sis file.

Would recompile the library make any difference?

i am also not a expert in carbide c++ but AFAIK the sis you compile by changing the pkg file in the siscontents will be same, though i am not so positive about this.

Well, I finally managed to compile the source code and the result is exactly the same...
At least I learned a bit more of carbide doing this I hope this will help me to understand the problem!
