problem in converting application from 3rd edition FP1 to 3rd edition initial release

Hello friends
I have developed my application using series 60 3rd edition FP2.
During testing I found that, application works well on s60 3rd edition FP1 & FP2 but some part of application not working
on s60 3rd edition initial release...(ex N73,N80.. etc).

I am getting error during accessing contacts, again in displaying query dialog , in search list box, while finding application private path... etc.. All above thing not working in s60 initial release devices...

plz help me...

anyway, if you wish to use your applciation with MR devices, you should indeed build the application with the MR SDK..

What errors you are getting?

May be you use a lot of SDK plug-ins wich was specifically designed for FPx's. But actually most common functionality must work correctly.

Try to build your project with S60 3rd MR SDK.

what is the difference between MR release and s60 3rd edition initial release.
I have downloaded s60 3rd edition sdk(NOT FP1,FP2 its initial release).. to test my application...

the MR is updated version of the initial SDK, anyway that one is the for for OS 9.1 devices one. You could also use the NOT one if you like. All and all, you should answer the questions asked, otherwise we can not really help you here...

My application crashed with Kern-Exec 3..
I have tested my application on N80 and N73 both are from initial release...

Maybe you could try building it with the MR SDK, just to see that you are using APIs that are also available in it. Also it might help if you could point out on which part of your code the crash happens..

I observered that wherever I have used "ExecuteLD()" function I am getting panic there..

. First delete all the files from EPOC32 folder & then build it ur application again. May be your .rsg file is properly getting created for udeb & it might not getting created properly for urel.
So just check that thing. your application will run on device also.

I would actually try increasing the stack in mmp file, stack overflow causes nice Kern-Exec 3 as well, and usually only with devices..

I got solution over my problem..
Its stack size I have set in my application
in mmp file set

EPOCSTACKSIZE 0x4000


Is this proper solution for this problem??
does this create any problem in future??

it is ok solution, it appears that with 3rd edition system components are taking a bit more stack space than with 2nd edition..
