    Hi all,
I have little bit knowledge of HAL API in Symbian. I have got some information from forums like HAL class, its library and header files - hal.h, hal.lib, hal_data.lib, But unfortunately there is no any detail in SDK Help.

So let me guide, how can I explore HAL API. Is there any information then please reply me.

    Kindly waiting for my solution.

    Kind Regards,
    Narendar

AFAIK, HAL API is not public API. So there are no any documents available.

For getting some additional information you can read this book - Symbian OS Internals: Real-time kernel programming

i think HAL is included in 3rd edition, what happens if you include <hal.h> in your cpp

so narendar_discover already know that the files are in SDK but A.A.M is pointing that this class / header files must not be used as "@publishedAll" APIs

    vineet.jain,
I think that this is very restricted representation which contains only some basic functions (only Get()/GetAll()/Set()).

hal.h is the main header , it also includes hal-data.h as its subheader.

Yes, this is so. Looks like I was mistaken.

    narendar_discover,
You can check file hal_data.h for getting information about attributes and values used by HAL functions.

Yes I got the file in following location in my machine:

    C:\Symbian\9.2\S60_3rd_FP1\Epoc32\include\hal_data.h

Now I'll try to work on it. Thanks for communication.
