    Hi all,

Is someone has information about a more precise release date (the 6216 is expected for the third quarter). The sim centric aspect of this mobile is very important for developping new services with career.

And what about new NFC handset ? (Symbian s60) ?

    Thanks.

    From the main page:
    http://shop.nokia.co.uk/nokia-uk/def...ink=firstlvnav

    there's no NFC device now.
    6212 disappeared...6216 too.

    Is Nokia dropping NFC ?

The 6216 is on the French site :

Hmmm... so the next step is probably: either it appears on the UK site, or it vanishes from the French site.

I believe the smiley that best describes this situation would be:

It's true the nokia 6216 is on the french nokia site, it's on since several month (since june or july).
I called Nokia in France, and it seems that the nokia will be available in the begin of 2010.

Things I have heard, is that Nokia already stopped the production of the 6212 (remnants available). This should be a good sign, that the 6216 is coming soon. From other sides, I have heard that there some troubles with the SWP/HCI Implementations and therefore the phone is that late ... - question of course is: is it Nokia's vault or the one of the UICC Manufacturers?

@Nokia: What about a statement? would be good for the whole industry, startup, consultants and the developers ...

    best, geri-m

So, there's no need to keep this Nokia NFC forum open, IMHO.

    We can't buy 6212 because it's retired.
    We can't buy 6216 because it's cancelled.

There are no Nokia NFC phones available at the moment.

We can only turn to Samsung
    http://www.nearfieldcommunicationswo...yer-one-avila/
    or Sagem
    http://www.nearfieldcommunicationswo...-the-over-50s/
..there was also the fonelabs one
    http://www.nearfieldcommunicationswo...st-nfc-phones/
    ...any other suggestion ?

Goddamnit. We have waited since 6131NFC to get a new phone that properly reads tags. We have working prototype apps that have raised interest among customers, and have been waiting to get proper phones on the market and now this.

Can you develop to those other phones using J2ME (do they support jsr 257)? Are they available now and where to buy them?

Unfortunately we haven't found any informations about Sagem or Samsung. We tried to contact Fonelabs, no answer.

We have hired people to sell our application, we have customers asking for 3-400 phones, and now we're pissed off.
For us, 6212 would be simply enough: we really didn't expect Nokia to cancel both of them at once.

We're looking for informations about SAGEM my700X NFC, it seems the only one that could be already on the market.

Are there external NFC readers, about the size of usb-memory stick, that could communicate with the phone using bluetooth? Also, any rumours about SonyEricsson releasing NFC phones?

Btw, you all DID notice this from the news link earlier:

"Nokia has confirmed that it informed its partners in late 2009 that it was not going to continue with the device."

That's right, we could have spent last 3 months doing something more productive. If Nokia had bothered to inform us that they were cancelling it.

    Hi,
we are in the same (bad) situation,
and some months of development on Nokia 6212 seem to become garbage...

    Our location is Milan, Italy.
If it will come out some solution for this our common problem,
we are happy to read/share here...

    Thank you in advance.
