gzip In Http

Hi all,
Does the j2me http Apis supports gzip encoding and decoding atometically ? I have tried setting the header as Accept-Encoding: gzip using http , It is sending the Accept-Encoding: gzip and I am receiving the gziped content as it is it is not decoding and giving the gziped content . please give some comments and suggestion on this.

You need to send the data without gzip.

Thanks for your comments, My question here is if I send the Accept-Encoding as gzip server is sending the gziped content but j2me Http connection will not decode and give the gziped content is there any way we can tell the Http Connection to say this is gziped content decode it and use . Is all mobile browsers will support the gzip and they will understand the gzip by default?

This issue get solved thanks hartti for your comments , I use the gzip library to decode my gziped content you can fins the library http://www.java4ever.com/index.php?s...enu=main&lang= It is very small jar file which solve my problem.

Hey bhanuchandar.k ... sorry for bothering you regarding 3 months old post, but could you be so kind and paste me some code you use in your app regarding GZIP library?

I'm always geting Invalid GZIP format when trying to inflate received data from server. I've set request header Accept-Encoding: gzip and the response looks like gzipped content.

I'm always geting Invalid GZIP format

This Exception will come only if you are trying to unzip the GZIPPED content . But The content is not GZIPED . Some times it will happens like you will be enabled the mod GZIP but It is not ZIPED , At the client side you will be receiving the content encoding as GZIP, But the content is not ZIPED. To verify this , Write your response data in to one file , and With the external Zip utilities like widows zip or linux zip command you do the unzip and check the content.
