N97 SMS automatic deletion problem

Hi,
today my phone deleted some of my sms without any reason.
I'm going to detail my specs if someone can replicate the problem.
- Model N97
- Firmware 12.0.026
- Battery Low alert

I connected my phone to my pc using the USB cable on WinXP. I didn't have any drivers or installation cd so I choose Mass Storage mode and then my SMSs were deleted five days backwards.
Also while connected my phone went into a locked mode and the unlock button wasn't working even after downloading the latest Nokia Ovi Suite software from Nokia so I had to remove the battery and switched on afterwards.

Any ideas?
