    Hi Everyone,

I have written a game for series 40 phones and I tested that with 6610. However, the game won't load into the game category but the application category instead.
I have already added the line

    Nokia-MIDlet-Category: Game

into the jad file but still in vain.

    Any idea?

    Thank you
    Nelson

    Don't beat yourself silly.
"Nokia-MIDlet-Category: Game" just doesn't work for now. Maybe on future phones it will, but for now there is nothing you can do.

    Hi,

please try to refrain from giving out false answers to questions. The correct answer to this problem is that "Nokia-MIDlet-Category: Game" descriptor field WORKS fine with OTA download. It DOES NOT work with IrDA deployment.

    Kind regards,
    Tinke / FN

I've tried it both with OTA and with IrDA on the 7650 and with OTA on the 3510i and it hasn't worked.

Looks like I owe tinkie and doomer some apologies.
I had a type in the JAD file.
    Tried again:
The 7650 still doesn't work, but on the 3510i it went into the Games folder.
    Sorry.

    Hi,

actually I also forgot to mention that this descriptor field issue concerns ONLY Series 30 and 40 devices with fairly new software.

    Kinds regards,
