    Nokia 5800 / Python PyS60 1.9.7 / development system - Python 2.5.4 on Windows XP

    When I run [1] or several other sample graphics applications, there is a keypad on the bottom quarter of the phone screen.
    1. Can the arrow keys be removed, and the area of the keypad reduced?
    2. Can this keypad be replaced with the Options and Exit soft keys found in other applications such as Dictionary?
    3. Can the keypad be entirely removed? I have found discussion for Java and Windows C++ relative to full screen mode but nothing yet for Python.

    I am studying [2] but am interested in other direct and to the point references.

    Hi nvonfange, welcome !

    To remove the virtual pad:

    Code:
    import appuifw
    appuifw.app.directional_pad = False

    Marcelo, that does the trick, thank you!
    I also set appuifw.app.screen = 'large', which then allows the ordinary soft key tabs
    to be both visible and functional. - NVF
