    Hi List,
    I have problem in using location API.when i try to use bellow code
    (mcc, mnc, lac, cellId) = location.gsm_location()
    I get following result
    cellId = 118041508 lac = 18007 mnc = 76 mcc = 404

    It does not seem to be a vallid cell ID because cell id should be 5 digit for me.Can some one figure out if i messed up some thing.

    I m using Nokia 5800
    Python 1.9.7 svn 3733 in my mobile.

    Br
    Tulip

    On my 5800 location.gsm_location() returns None. By the way: why are you so sure about what your cellid should look like?

    hello kwin

    if your 5800 retuens none for cellid and other location information then make sure that you have a script shell will required capabilities.

    As gaba88 said, you don't seem to have the correct capabilities set.

    Download "PythonScriptShell_1_4_5_3rdEd_unsigned_testrange.SIS" or "Python_Script_Shell_high_capac" and get it signed at Symbian Signed.

    The location.gsm_location() call should now give you the correct details (output).

    Hi Tulip,

    I don't think you have a problem. I remember 5 digit cellids from 2.5G network times, but got longer cellids when using a 3G network sim card for testing. To me it looks like you are on a 3G network in India. Is that plausible?

    Cheers
