is there a way programmatically to get the list of installed applications as
it appears in "Main Menu -> Settings -> Application mgr. -> Installed apps." ?
    i saw this thread
    http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph..._on_a_phone%3F

and compared the results to what i see in the ".....Application mgr. -> Installed apps." folder... and it's definitely not the same !!! another thing that ".....Application mgr. -> Installed apps." display also "hidden" applications !!!

    Hi,
    1. In the example code the app name is the "standard SIS file header" i.e. #{"My Test App"},0x2......"
and in the code you can get "only" one from the following "iCaption/iFullName/iShortCaption" ...

    2. In the example code you won't be able to see installed "hidden" applications
and in the "...Application mgr." you will...

    3. in the "...Application mgr." you will see applications that installed under "C:\..." there you'll see all other
    drives....

do u have any idea how to retrieve the applications list from the "...Application mgr." ?

I have not seen (any public ) API that could get any information from the stub-sis files that the application manager propably uses, basically the best option has been to use way shown in the example, anyway, what is the actual purpose on getting the information excatly as it would be shown in the application manager ?

The application manager lists installed packages (SIS files) while the code you used lists registered applications. Not the same thing and obviously the results will be different. As Jukka said already, there is no public API for listing the installed packages, but if you have a valid business reason you can ask for the internal API through the API Partnering process.
