Application signing

Hi friends,

I have signed my MIDlet using a verisign certificate. After I have installed the application on phone, still its asking for permissions whenever I am connecting over HTTP or using a PIM function. How can I suppress it? After signing, it gives an option to suppress prompts. But the user has to manually select the option. I want to suppress the prompts without any user intervention. Is this possible ? Please advise.

I don't know what applications you've seen, or on what device.

on a S60 device you can set (if the app is signed) the default behaviour for every app in the Application Manager...
So if you have signed your app and want it to use "Always Allow" for HTTP connections you will have to set that manually through the Application Manager, which, as mentioned before, will only work on S60 devices...

I know. But I wanted to avoid that. My application is signed. What I want is, after installation, the application shouldn't ask any prompts. The user shouldn't need to open the application manager.

I´ve seen applications opening connections without any prompts but this ususally just works with operator certificates (and depends on the phone). they usually have their own installed certificates so a versign certificate will not work. In case you want to sell the application via a operator they`ll sign it with their certificate.
