Hi All,

I am required to develop an application which installs an application in a s40 or s60 device.Before that i need to find out if there is enough memory available in the device(not JRE) to install the program.After lot of searching i am still unable to figure out a way for this .Please help...

You mean, enough space to install the JAR? That happens automatically. The JAR size is in the JAD, and the JAD is downloaded first (the JAD is only a couple of k). If the JAR is too large, the phone won't download it.

Does that help you? Maybe I don't understand what you want.

Its actually a .sis file that i need to fetch from the server from my client app.so before running .sis installer i want to make sure if there is enough memory in phone.

A .sis file is a Symbian installation package, not a Java application (you've posted this in the Java discussion board). Try the Symbian discussion boards.
