Ovi Store acceptance of SIS packaged by Adobe Mobile Packager

Of late, I viewed a comment posted on a forum, stating that the Ovi Store does not accept .SIS files generated with the Adobe Mobile Packager? Is that correct? I have the earlier version of the packager (before Adobe removed it) and am creating .SIS through it from SWF. I have got that SIS open signed offline and am able to use it on my handset. I now aim to send it for the Certified Signed to Symbian for publishing it at the Ovi Store. Should I discontinue whatever I am doing? If yes, how does the packager impact the functioning of the application and also the Ovi store for that matter? Incase Adobe packaged SIS are not accepted, I am unable to set up Kuneri (http://wiki.kunerilite.net/index.php...er's_Guide) and Carbide C++ (http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...th_Carbide.c++), what do I do next?

SymbianSigned forums have no info of the Ovi acceptance/rejection of the specified SIS.

Please help.

By the looks of things Supriya already has a sis file, probably ready certified by now, so yet another tool that packages a SWF file into a SIS is not an answer to her question.

Supriya, I don't pay much attention to Flash but I guess I would have heard if Ovi Store rejects a particular content type, or you would have found some discussions about it already here. If you have a link to the source of that info then post it here, let's see who is making the claim, how credible the person is and what the background story is.

My assumption is this: if your generated SIS file installs well on device and the application works then the content will be accepted.

Lucian, the Adobe Mobile Packager solution has been discontinued by Adobe and the sis that is created in not supported by the OVI Store. It's also explained in the OVI Publisher Guide, that sis files created with the Adobe Mobile Packager are not supported by the OVI Store.

So, what I am saying is correct!

supriyaakg, you have several options to create a sis file for FL content

1 - Helisso
2 - KuneriLite
3 - SWF2Go
4 - Create your own C++ stub Launcher
5 - Create your own C++ Launcher

These last 2 methods requires knowledge of Symbian C++ programming, there couple of articles on the FN Wiki.

Once you created a sis file, you can do the Express Signed process for your sis.

Excuse me for not posting this as a new thread, as I feel I need to be in continuation.

As Alessandro mentioned, considering that the SWF2Go has also gone off air and I wasnt successful with the C++ procedure, I tried both Helisso and Kunerilite. I could have safely proceeded with first testing the self signed SIS and then submitting the one signed with my publisher ID, but only the following hold me back and I want both your's and lucian's assistance:

1. Submitting to the Symbian Signed requires the app to contain the Symbian allotted UID signed with my DevCert. Both Helisso and Kunerilite work well with their randomly generated unprotected UID and their respective self signing, but when I tried to use the mandated procedure, both the tools refused to yield. I get an error: "Unable to install, constrained by the certificate." I know what it means as I have been following http://mobile.antonypranata.com/2006...0-3rd-edition/ .

2. The Publishing guide from Ovi store, under the head "Entry criteria for Flash Lite application testing" mentions "Flash files must be published as versions 1.1, 2.0, 2.1 or 3.0. Files that are published as FL 3.1 will not be
accepted.". Helisso packages the SIS with FL ver 3.1 even though my app is inherently in FL 3.0.

3. Helisso creates the signed output as .SISX. Can I use that for Symbian submission? I have been following http://developer.symbian.org/forum/s...ead.php?t=5371
