issue of glphs arabic in unicode

hi all
I am trying to write any symbol in

arabic
I am using unicode in canvas for draw

that

like the symbol ?
the unicode it is ufe70

and I draw it by

g.drawString(new String("\ufe70"), 0,

but I can see the rectangle words

only.
can I do that in j2me???
if yes please hint me to some line to

understand that??

All systems do not support Arabic diacritics. As far as I know Arabic text can be written without them.

Have you checked the solution provided by traud in the thread I provided below?

It should work without any unicode encoding, you can pass Arabic characters directly as the String argument in the drawString method as follows:

g.drawString("سلام",x,...

If this doesn't work, please let us know on which device and software version you are trying this.

all chars of arabic work but i want to display some symbol in arabic as like( ُ , ٍ ,ٌ )
and i wrote it with unicode but not work with any device
it worked with standard emulater of netbeans but not worked on mobile and not worked on emulater of 3rd edition

pleas if it impossible work guide me to leave it
but if possible what i do

After further investigation on your issue, it seems indeed that it is not possible to display properly the glyphs from FE70 to FE7F, while there are no problems in displaying the rest of the Arabic characters starting from FE80.

This does not seem to be Nokia specific problem though, as I get the same behavior when using both a Nokia SDK and Oracle's WTK.

Can you please provide the SDK and the version of the Java SE Runtime Environment you were using when you manage to make this work (type java -version in a command prompt)? By standard you mean Oracle's WTK? If so, which version?

when i wrote this code

 g.drawString(new String("\ufe71"), 0,)

must to display ( ً )
but it
displayed a rectangle word in any Sdk ,but when this code

 g.drawString( "\u064b", 0, 0 ,0)

it appear properly in platform name java(tm) platform micro editin sdk 3.0
device name
defaultCldctwiohone1
but it never appear with s60 3rd edition
I repeat my request

Thank you for the additional information on the error. I have now verified that the isolated Unicode form ("\uFE70") doesn't work on neither Oracle's Wireless Toolkit, nor Nokia's SDK. The generic Unicode form ("\u064B") works on the Wireless Toolkit, but not on Nokia's SDK. I am afraid this is an error and I don't see a way around it. I will report this as a bug.

As of now, there is no known solution to your problem. I have created a Known Issue page here:

I am not aware of any corrections coming for this now, so I would advice you to look for alternatives. I suspect, since this issue has not been reported before, that these glyphs are not used in their isolated form in words and sentences. If you are planning on using them for display purposes only, one solution would be to use static images.
