Scrollable text with images in touch interface..

Hi,
I am creating an application for Nokia 5800 in which for the about page i have images and text... This is easily achievable if by using up and down keys but how to achieve the same using touch interface.. I even tried the components available in your website dint work as expected. Please help...

In touch you can do many things as compared to the keys...like touch the control for actions, gesture etc..What is that you want to do exactly?

Thanks again for helping out... See i need an screen which has both text as well as image displayed next to next just like a web page for example. The contents is around 3 pages... So I am using a movie clip to dump all the contents. All i need to know is how to give scroll to this screen in touch interface for ex: Nokia 5800, since if it was only text i could have given textDisplay.scroll-=5; Please help me in this issue...

Or you need to create a scrollbar like on desktop Flash applications to scroll the content by dragging the scroll-thumb.

Thanks again for your help.. I have locked the orientation to landscape in my app. So i tried kinetic scrolling dint work as expected in landscape mode.. I had even posted this previously
http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...d.php?t=199384 I have put the Text and Images in different Movie Clip and added it to the Kinetic scrolling. Still i am not able to scroll on the device... So i need to know if there is any alternative method so that i can achieve scroll on touch devices...

I think what chall3ng3r suggested is the only solution to your problem. It would require good amount of careful coding to get the desired visual effect and performance. In this forum we can only give suggestions, its up to you to get your hands dirty and build. I have done similar things based on suggestions of experts here.

Thanks a lot for reply.. As said the component itself is of 640 / 360 px size and my orientation has been locked to landscape... If it was portrait i would have straight away used the sample fla which they have provided... I am following the exact same method only difference is I am using text inside the movie clip... It works fine but i have to drag the movie clip really hard for it to work on an N97 mini... I had only the following doubts:-

1) My movie clip size is width = 640 x height = 360 is this effecting my drag.

2) Is there any alternate method to achieve scrollable text in touch interface devices..

If you want to create a scrolling content, you can use the ScrollPane component.

I have created a ScrollPane component specifically for FlashLite nokia devices, you can have a look at the article and the component uploaded on wiki.

Hi

I have created something like this by creating a movieclip with the text and image and an invisible movieclip which covers the entire content. I then apply a startdrag to the invisible (_alpha = 0) movieclip. Finally I apply a mask to the content. That gives the desired effect I think.

Thanks a lot guys for your reply, I tried my luck with the kinetic scrolling itself suggested by " chall3ng3r " its working fine for me... The only mistake I had done was, I had put only text inside the movie clip which was creating problems while scrolling.... Now I have given an dark background for the text in a different layer due to which scroll is working as expected .... Thanks a lot guys for your support hope this help any one else facing the same problem...
