    Hello everyone !
We've recently bought two 6212 Classic devices (not in a developer pack) & would like to inject a CARDlet (JavaCard) in the devices Secure Element. We haven't found any wiki page about this, so we have various questions :
    • what is the chipset used for the NFC radio ? what is the Secure Element model ?
    • we read somewhere that there was a need to "unlock" the Secure Element ; how can we do this ?
    • we have already developped a CARDlet ; how can we upload it to the 6212 devices ? what kind of extra hardware do we need ?
    • is there any wiki page for the 6212 (like this one dedicated to the 6131) ?

    Well thanks for your help.

    Hallo,

    • what is the chipset used for the NFC radio ? what is the Secure Element model ?

Nokia 6212 uses the same chipset as 6131NFC: the PN512 transmission module and the SmartMX (CN072) secure element from NXP.

    • we read somewhere that there was a need to "unlock" the Secure Element ; how can we do this ?

See the thread Nokia NFC Unlock Service MIDlet now available for download.

    • we have already developped a CARDlet ; how can we upload it to the 6212 devices ? what kind of extra hardware do we need ?

    An external ISO14443 card reader.

Not that I'm aware of. But most of this page also applies to the 6212.

    br,
    Michael

OK ; funny though, I didn't find any reference of this SE on the web.

I guess this answers most of my questions. I'll open other threads should I have others.
    Thanks for your help.

Ok, the full product name is of course P5CN072. Short form spec is here:
    http://www.nxp.com/acrobat_download2.../SFS107710.pdf

And NXP's product page for the SmartMX family is here:

Honestly, I have not tried unlocking a 6212, I would just expect it to work the same way. Unless, of course, the SE has already been personalized (e.g. by a TSM or the MNO that sold the phone).

    Thanks for your help Michael.

    Ooops, forgot to ask :
Does it come with any JCOP version embedded ? I has a look at various PDF files on the web about the P5CN072 chip, none said anything about the JCOP OS being provided. I guess it depends on the manufacturer's choice.
As for the Nokia 6212, what was chosen ?
Also, which JavaCard version is supported by the chip ?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello,

The service we used for unlock the secure element is Nokia NFC Unlock Service MIDlet but, it never ends because appear the following messages:

"The process of unlocking the secure element was not completed". "Source HTTP Post Failed".

We think that is the connection to the 3G (or GPRS) and we try this:

    Preferred access point: internet.comcel.com.co
"internet" settings from Comcel MMS: Single-shot WEB Comcel 3GSM.

Also we try that with Movistar that is annother 3G Colombia provider.

Could someone please help me with this troubles?

I use a serial reader Feig CPR M02 and Nokia 6212 unlocked.
If i use gpshell, helloworld.cap to install, i get:
    C:\work>GPShell.exe helloworld.txt
    mode_211
    enable_trace
    establish_context
    card_connect
The authentication work (9000) but not the installation.
