Item FAILED: Poor Description.

Ciao,

I just got a message from OVI QA about an app been failed for "Poor Description"

FAILED: Poor Description.
SUMMARY: Please change the description to improve the overall quality of the item. Please use this message for the description: “.............”

Now while I might understand the suggestion if my description was way off, but I am certain it was good for what the app does.
But now we are getting in OVI QA deciding if a description makes your app pass/fail QA?

Any ideas or comments on this would be great since it's becoming a frustration. I have to thing about what OVI QA might think of my app description???!!!

My advice in such a case is just to resubmit.

I submitted some items one late night at the time when everything starts to blur on the screen and yeah I had some terrible misspellings, so QA saved us some embarrassment with this extra check. Overall I think this is a good thing.

I think bug hunting is developers' job for their app. It is not good for QA team to allow typo and so on. I am sure somebody might shout how Ovi allow this typo and so on. Opinion varies from people to people so much :-)

first of all, in the description there was no typos and I did not mention typos.
They suggested changes that seemed coming out from a manual. So not the best suggestion!

About finding a bug, it's always possible for one simple reason, I and probably 99.9% of developers, do not have all handsets so there might be issues with particular firmwares, hence QA !!!

This is understandable that many developers have no devices. There is a service in Forum Nokia
http://www.forum.nokia.com/Technolog...Device_Access/. Many test cases can be performed remotely.

I know about the RDA but it does not have all the devices and firmwares.
My point is that description (beside typos and T&C) should not be covered by QA, it's wasting everyone's time.

With all respect, Mahbub, but I differ here.

At Samsung's, if a QA officer finds something he "feels strange"; he films it and shows. And then you, the developer, have to decide. And this is why I am willing to pay 30$ a pop, and also treat their QA as more than a bunch of useless nuissances on legs.
